As the Oxford Mail did not have enough room for a reasonable match report on the above game. Below is the report I sent to the paper.
Oxfordshire's Women Cricketers finished off their ECB Women's County Championship Division 5 East fixtures with an agonising three wicket loss against Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire at Oxford Downs. After the start was delayed by rain and the game was reduced to 32 overs per side, Oxfordshire lost the toss and were inserted.
Oxfordshire's innings got off to the worst possible start when captain, Yvonne Jackson, was adjudged LBW to the second ball of the match to the impressive Caroline Ingarfield. Genny Porter then counter attacked and made a very composed 24 before she chipped a catch back to the bowler. After useful contributions from Megan Burton (19) and Emilia Bartram (17), wickets steadily fell and Oxon ended their innings a below par 102-9.
Oxon started well, with only 15 runs coming from the first 6 over powerplay and at drinks after 17 overs, Oxon were certainly in the frame with the score at 53-3. Unfortunately, runs flowed freely in the next five overs with 29 runs coming. It was left to the spinners, Vicky Strode and Bridget Rhodes-Moore to try to wrest the initiative back to Oxon, which they did by slowing the run rate and taking wickets at important times. With only 13 runs coming from eight overs, it was all to ply for in the last over. Into the last over, Cambs/Hunts needed one to win and Strode have finished her seven over allocation, so it was down to Porter to try to achieve the impossible by restricting the batsmen to a maiden. Unfortunately, Cambridgeshire completed a three wicket win off the third ball, with opener Elizabeth Reynolds finishing unbeaten with 36.

As the Oxford mail did not have any room to put this match report in the paper. Here is the unedited version:
Oxfordshire's Women Cricketers put in a superb bowling performance to beak Norfolk by 59 runs at Abingdon Vale CC on Sunday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, captain Yvonne Jackson lead from the from by combining with Gemma Muttitt in an opening stand of 41, until Muttitt was unluckily adjudged to be LBW. From this platform, unfortunately Oxfordshire got bogged down against the Norfolk spinners and slipped to 106-7. A cdomposed rearguard eighth wicket stand between Rhian Todd, making her senior debut and top scoring with 31, and Nicola Scull (15*) gave the final score of 153 all out some respectibility, but was probably about twenty runs short of a par score.
Needing to start well, the Oxfordshire opening bowlers bowled a very good opening spell with Genny Porter being particularly unlucky with having two catches dropped behind the wicket. At the other end Sam Moore (2-13) bowled both openers and after the first 10 over powerplay, Norfolk were 22-2. The Norfolk middle order could not cope with the accuracy of Nicola Scull, who finished with the fantastic figures of 3-8 off seven overs. Porter (2-18) then came back to clean up the tail and Norfolk were bowled out for 94.
