Two leagues are affiliated to the OCB. 1. Oxford Times Cherwell League. The Oxford Times Cherwell Cricket League consists of 38 clubs from 6 counties, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. There are 10 divisions with 101 teams competing and it is part of the pyramid system, with its Champions being eligible for promotion to Division 2 (West), of the Home Counties Premier Cricket League. Season 2009 will see the start of two new League Cup Competitions, the Senior Cup for first teams and the Junior Cup for second teams. The CL feeds into the HPCL structure via the Western feeder division. The Board Secretary represents the OCB at an annual meeting with the other 5 county boards who have clubs in the Home Counties Premier League structure. 2. The Oxfordshire Cricket Association. The Oxfordshire Cricket Association now boasts 103 teams from 59 clubs competing in 11 divisions and 5 cup competitions. The Association promotes competitive cricket in Oxfordshire and the outlying districts, maintaining the integrity of competition with regard to 2nd, 3rd and 4th team cricket, and promoting the highest standards in all facets of the game. Both of these leagues are represented at the Clubs, Leagues and Competitions committee to air views and share problems. The major touch point being Child Welfare and our joint commitment to the Safe Hands policy. |
