Oxfordshire has its own Cricket Groundsman's Association.

It exists to:-
  • co-ordinate a Buying Group for materials – discounts, technical advice etc.
  • provide access to the OCB kit trailer
  • publicise Groundsman training opportunities
  • provide access to specialist contractors (eg spraying)
  • Provide a point of contact for Clubs wishing to have pitch inspections.
OCB Kit Trailer

The OCB own a kit trailer. John Pilcher administers the kit on behalf of the OCB. The equipment was supplied by Chanel 4 and awarded by the ECB to the OCB. It is currently being stored at Challow CC and is available for hire. The OCB are extremely grateful to John and C&Ch for there contribution in this area.

The equipment comprises of the following

  • Sissies 600 Rotorake *
  • Harvester pedestrian top dresser*
  • Groundsman 345 top dresser*
  • DJ pedestrian wheeled rake and brush
  • 3ft. Drag mat
  • 24”Levelawn flip over lute
  • Sarel roller

The OCB is making the above equipment available for hire to all affiliated clubs, all equipment marked* will carry a charge of £ 30/day to enable the machinery to be maintained in a proper condition, the remainder will be available FOC.

The trailer initially supplied is not currently suitable for the transport of the equipment and hence clubs would have to provide their own transport, in special cases the OCB may be able to arrange to deliver and collect from clubs with a charge reflecting the distance travelled.

There is is an increasing demand on this kit and the peak period will be shortly with us. The process is first come, first served.

Please contact John @ jandmpilcher31@hotmail.com to secure your preferred date.
