The Bernard Tollett Oxfordshire KO cup is run by the Oxfordshire Board for the benefit of its affiliated clubs. We continue to enjoy the benefit of Bernard’s generous legacy which covers the cost of the competition including a prize of £250 to the winning club. All affiliated clubs are invited to enter the competition; entry is free but subject to the £20 per annum OCB affiliation being paid before the 1st round takes place.21 teams entered the competition in 2009. The semi-final and final will be staged at Bicester & North Oxford CC on Sunday July 12th. We are once again extremely grateful to BNOCC, the BSA and groundsman Graham Savin and his team for accommodating our needs. Lisa Lloyd okocup@googlemail.com has kindly agreed to administer this year's competition. Please make sure that Lisa has your contact details and that results are sent in promptly. Sandbach cracked a blistering ton with sum big sixes and Ferraby played some delightful strokes with sixes over point and cover. There cause was helped by some poor fielding and some inconsistent bowling. In reply East Oxford were never in the hunt as they regularly lost wickets and eventually finished on 145 all out. However, East Oxford did well to get this far in the competition. In the end Oxford were way to strong for a team in OCA division 1 and the gap in standard was clearly evident. report by Ali Malik (East Oxford)Oxford 221 - 1 (Nick Ferraby 94 no ( 56 balls 12 x 4's, 2 x 6's , Chris Sandbach 109 (64 balls, 9 x 4's, 5 x 6's) East Oxford 145 - 10 (Mbbasi 35) (Phil Evans 3-31 , Francois Vainker 3-36, Stuart Hole 2-16) Semi Final -2 Shipton WO Final Shipton 112 - 9 Oxford 113 - 0 |
