 'developing cricket in oxfordshire'
The OCB invest a large proportion of its annual budget in coaching players and coach education. The latter comprises of running a series of ECB CA courses which lead to professional accreditation. The Oxfordshire Coaches Association complements this by running a continuous professional development programme to support its membership.
Coach Education Dept
Please note that the OCBCA are intending to run a UKCC 2 course during April and May 2012. The enrolment form is shown in the attachment in Coaching news opposite, which provides details on the fees involved and your commitment to the relevant courses. However we are in talks currently with 2 schools with a view of providing an earlier course if we can, so please WATCH THIS SPACE!
All learners must have an ECB CRB, 1st Aid and Safeguarding Children Course certificates, which are renewable every 3 years and if they are unable to attend all of the courses, log book completion and assessment day, then they are unable to attend the course.
PRE REQUISTE COURSES
Cricket has recently been a major benefactor of the opportunity to host sport specific workshops as offered by the Oxfordshire Sports Partnership Core Team.
The Oxfordshire Cricket Board have run a minimum standards day for their coaches which allowed them to up skill 20 coaches in First Aid and Safeguarding on one day and at one central venue.
The South Oxfordshire Cricket Development Group have also organised both, a Safeguarding course on 31/1/12 and First Aid on 6/3/12.
Chadlington Sports Club are hosting First Aid on 9/3/12 and Safeguarding on 16/3/12 at their clubhouse and details to attend this can also be sent via the contact information shown below.
Hosting a workshop is a great way to save your members from travelling too far and allows them to complete the workshop in familiar surroundings. It also importantly provides them with sport specific content on the workshops and ultimately saves the club or organisation money.
